                                                                             2020-2025  The Twelve Minor Prophets

Each painting of the twelve is 7 feet by 4 1/2 feet and is multimedia acrylic.  The first was the prophet Nahum.  Started after a newscast about the difficulties of rebuilding the infrastructure of a large city located on the outskirts of a Biblical Nineveh.  The Twelve Minor Prophets now are owned by Phillips Seminary in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

                                             Nahum

"Nineveh is devastated; who will bemoan her?"

                                            Jonah

Jonah is a companion piece to Nahum.  Nahum was about the destruction of a disobedient city; Jonah is about the centuries' earlier survival of that city, Nineveh, after its admission of guilt for tits cruelty and the destruction of its neighbors and its promise to behave in the future.

"When God saw...how they turned from their evil ways, God changed his mind about the calamity...and he did not do it."  Jonah 3:10

The remaining prophets are not presented in any particular order.  Each prophet has both a musical instrument representing proclamation and a timepiece.  Unconventional materials are used:  real Japanese beetle corpses in "Joel", hundreds of cut-out canvas painted human figures captured in  real nets.  Because of the diversity of the approach and materials, most were worked on somewhat simultaneously.
